Baby is here!!

( The above pictures were taken by Paul Hartung, a dear friend who is a wonderful photographer.)

For those of you who haven't yet heard ( my brother- in- laws at the rebulation already told the good news on their blog), Elena Belle Harris was born on September 28th. We are very very happy parents of a beautiful little girl. She was 6 pounds and 3 ounces and 20 inches long. She does looks similar to our first baby, Faith, in some of her features while having her own unique look. Elena is doing very well. She cried and cried at first, but now is pretty much happily sleeping away between meal times (which come very very often).
I am sorry to say that I am not doing quite as well. I am still healing from the many stitches I received from tearing at her birth, and working through some breast feeding issues and mastitis (which makes me feel like I have the flu). I was running a fever for a few nights in a row and am now on antibiotics. Oh, the joys of motherhood. I wouldn't mind some prayers, that all of the above issues would soon improve. : )
For all of those ladies out there who want to know more of the details, when I am feeling better I will write more about my labor. But until then, I think I am going back to bed! : )

What a cute baby! And so happy to hear she is here and you and she doing well. Well...except nursing issues, but hang in there...it will get better. I learned of LaLeche League when I had my 2nd and my 2nd and 3rd children were nursed a whole lot longer!! Those ladies know so many practical ways to help with nursing problems and most places have someone on call even 24 hours a day...seems problems usually get worse during the evening and night hours. I had some problems with breast infections too, but learned to use liquid vitamin E...rub on nipple and where it hurts...had to rub it in fairly well to nipple area so baby would not refuse to eat! But saved me from having to take antibiotics after I hearned. Also began taking a B complex vitamin along with the multiple vitamin...especially when stressed by certain relatives...hope you find some solutions!!

Blessings and may things go easier on you. Sorry to hear of all the stitches too...been there!! (My first was almost 10 pounds!)

I think she looks more like you, Kimi, whereas Faith looked more like Joel when she was first born. Nevertheless, Faith was beautiful and Elena Belle is, as well! Congratulations, and hang in there! Love you all...God bless always..

Congratualations Kimi! She is beautiful. Take these weeks to focus on your baby, they go so fast :(. I'm going through some nursing issues that I've never experienced before and I'm on my third nursed baby! I guess we never stop learning :). Hang in there it will get better!!! And in the meantime, kiss those little cheeks as often as possible, it's great medicine :).

Praise God and MANY CONGRATULATIONS to you and your husband! What a precious, beautiful gift from God. I would assume that's you in the last photo, right...? Both you and Elena are simply lovely! The photos really warmed my heart.

Awwwwww! She is absolutely precious!! I agree, that second picture is just about the cutest thing I think I have ever seen! (except for of course one's own children of course!:) ). Kimmi, you look beautiful too, absolutely radiant! So happy for you and Joel. I am so thankful that God chose to keep Elena inside until she was full term so that you could have the joy of bringing her home right away. We are praying for you to heal soon. It is hard at first, but hang in there! It will get better!
Love,
Ruth (for the DePue family)
